Spencer Boyer

Spencer Boyer

At Moto Incorporated, our Featured Rider series is all about shining a spotlight on the people who make this sport what it is, those out there putting in the work, chasing checkers, and keeping the stoke high every weekend.
This month, we caught up with Spencer Boyer. From early mornings at the track to late-night bike prep, Spencer’s the kind of rider who shows up and gets it done. Let’s dive into what fuels his passion and what’s next for him this season.

Can you tell us how you first got into riding dirt bikes and what inspired you to start?

Mostly my dad. He put me on my first bike at age 4, but ever since I've loved this sport and wouldn't change it.

What do you remember about your first race? Where was it, and how did it go?

My first race was one of the worst ones I have done. It was at Lake Havasu City in the WORCS series. I crashed so many times, and I unknowingly jumped the lagoon jump and cased it pretty hard and got the wind knocked out of me. It was definitely a sketchy weekend.

What kind of bike are you riding right now, and why do you like it?

2023 KTM 85 built by RSK. I like it because it's fast and a 2-stroke. Who doesn't love 2-strokes, right?

Who do you look up to in the racing world, and why?

I look up to a lot of people in the racing world, but one of them is Chase Sexton. He is fast and smooth on a dirt bike; he's also very nice to people, which a lot of other riders are not.

Is there a particular track or event that stands out as your favorite so far?

My favorite track is definitely Cahuilla Creek Motocross. My favorite event that I have raced so far is Rd. 5 of MRAN in Pioche, NV. It was a very fun and challenging course.

What’s a typical race day like for you? How do you prepare before hitting the track?

I prepare by stretching and getting hyped up while my dad does final prep work before I go out.

What’s the best advice someone has given you about racing or riding?

Just take it easy and have fun; don't push yourself to the point you're going to crash. My favorite quote that I was told is, A winner is a loser who never gave up.

When you’re not racing, what do you like to do for fun?

Hang out with my friends, chill with my family, and play dirt bike games.

What are some goals you’re working towards this year?

Get faster, win more, and just keep having fun.

What challenges have you faced while racing, and how have you overcome them?

Mt. Saint Helens at Glen Helen Raceway I did not want to do it because it was intimidating, but once I did it, it was not that bad at all.

If someone your age wanted to start riding, what advice would you give them?

Have fun. If you're not having fun, you are definitely not winning.
